Drumming Workshop for Kids and Tweens

Drum in the new year! Join Logan Amaral for an immersive drum workshop, focusing on elements of traditional rhythms from Ghana, West Africa. Participants will explore a variety of topics, such as polyrhythm and call & response, all played on authentic, hand-crafted instruments from Ghana.

For kids and tweens in grades K-7.

Logan Amaral is a Providence-based musician and educator who has taught all ages and performed around the world. Although he is a multi-instrumentalist, versed in percussion, guitar, piano, bass, and vocals, Logan primarily focuses on drum set and traditional music and dance of Ghana, West Africa. In 2016 Logan earned a BA in Jazz Drum Set from UMass Dartmouth, and in 2018 he received an MFA in Ghanaian Music and Dance from California Institute of the Arts.
