Folk Tunes and Story Songs with The New Grown-Ups

Join local musicians The New Grown-Ups for a special vacation week concert for kids at 10:30 AM in Hunneman Hall!

Free tickets will be required for this program and will be available at the Children’s Desk starting at 10 AM on the morning of the program.

Taking a modern twist on American roots music, the New Grown-Ups blend traditional blues, country, old time, originals, and bluegrass into a snafu of contemporary music. “Folk Tunes and Story Songs” is a musical journey through roots music and folk stories for children, from energetic singalongs like “The Rattlin’ Bog” and “I’ve Been Workin’ on the Railroad” to Pete Seeger’s “Abiyoyo.” With banjo, guitar, mandolin, and violin all making an appearance, the program will also introduce young listeners to new instruments and musical traditions!
