Identifying Invasive Plants
Join the Friends of Hall’s Pond and Grow Native Massachusetts for a virtual workshop on Identifying Invasive Plants! During this virtual workshop, Meredith Gallogly of Grow Native Massachusetts will describe the characteristics of common invasive plants and the best ways to distinguish them from native look-alikes. She will also discuss the history behind the term “invasive,” and why these plant species are particularly harmful to our ecosystems. In learning how to identify invasive plants, you will be empowered to remove them when you see them, contributing to the health of our insects, birds, and other animals that rely on the native plants in our ecosystem!

There will be an in-person Invasive Plants Workshop at Hall’s Pond on Sunday, April 7 if you would like to learn more!
As Manager of Programs, Meredith organizes Grow Native’s educational programs and native plant sale, and produces their eNews. An avid plant observer, she loves helping others discover the beauty of our native flora and understand its importance as the foundation of our ecosystems.
