Pollywogs: 1st and 2nd Grade Book Club

Registration for the Spring Session of Pollywogs opens at 6 PM on Monday, March 11. Register via Eventbrite.

Hop to it and read! Our Pollywog’s book club is for 1st and 2nd graders. The group meets for 30 minutes every other Tuesday from 3 to 3:30 PM in the Rabbit Hole, on the ground floor of the Brookline Village Library. Each meeting will include a discussion of the book and an activity.

Our meeting dates for the spring are: April 9, April 23, May 7, May 21, and June 4. 

Books for meetings will be available for pickup at least two weeks in advance of each meeting at the Children’s Desk. When you pick up your book, you’ll receive a bookmark with prompts that you can fill out while you read to help you come to the meeting ready to discuss! The librarian chooses the first three books for the club and club members vote on the remaining two titles.

This program requires registration and has limited capacity. Please visit Eventbrite to register. By registering on Eventbrite, you are registering for all 5 sessions.  

Registering for this program indicates a commitment to attend the book club meetings. Please do not register for this program if your child will miss more than one meeting. If your child misses a second club meeting, their spot will be given to the next person on the waiting list. We understand that illness and emergencies occur – if an absence due to unforeseen circumstances is communicated to staff, it will not be considered a no-show.
