Pollywogs: 1st and 2nd Grade Book Club (Spring Session)

Hop to it and read! Our Pollywog’s book club is for 1st and 2nd graders. The group meets for 30 minutes twice a month on Tuesdays from 3 to 3:30 PM in the Rabbit Hole, on the ground floor of the Brookline Village Library. Each meeting will include a discussion of the book and an activity.  

Our meeting dates for the spring are: April 11, April 25, May 9, May 23, and June 6

Books for meetings will be available for pickup at least two weeks in advance of each meeting at the Children’s Desk. When you pick up your book, you’ll receive a bookmark with prompts that you can fill out while you read to help you come to the meeting ready to discuss!

Our spring books are:

• April 11: Gigi and Ojiji by Melissa Iwai
• April 25: You Should Meet Duke Kahanamoku by Laurie Calkhoven
• May 9: Thunder and Cluck: Friends do Not Eat Friends by Jill Esbaum
• May 23: TBD
• June 6: TBD

This program requires registration and has limited capacity. Please visit Eventbrite to register. If registration fills, there will be a waitlist. By registering on Eventbrite, you are registering for all 5 sessions.  Registration begins on Monday, March 13 at 6 PM

At this time, we ask that you only register your child for one book club so that more children have the chance to participate.

Registering for this program indicates a commitment to attend the book club meetings. Please do not register for this program if your child will miss more than one meeting. If your child misses a second club meeting, their spot may be given to the next person on the waiting list. We understand that illness and emergencies occur – if an absence due to unforeseen circumstances is communicated to staff, it will not be considered a no-show.
