Role Playing for Parents
Kids are natural role-players, but as a parent or caregiver it might be intimidating to introduce your child to more formal tabletop role playing games (TTRPGS), especially if you don’t have any role-playing experience yourself. If you are a role-playing parent, perhaps you’re most familiar with Dungeons and Dragons and don’t know where to start simplifying that for kids. Join Miss Macy, the librarian who runs our Kids RPG club, to learn a little more about various kids role-playing games available, how to simply RPGS to play them with kids, and then practice playing an RPG for kids, Shadows.
This program is intended for adults interested in learning how to playing TTRPGS with kids be it at home or in an educational setting. Children are welcome to attend this program with their adults though information for adults is the primary purpose of this program.
If you can’t make the program but are interested, download this handout for resources!
