Solar Eclipses: Tracking the Shadow of the Moon!

Photograph of the phases of a total solar eclipse from start to finish

Join Jim Zebrowski, President of the Aldrich Astronomical Society, for a family friendly PowerPoint talk about solar eclipses, which includes amazing prints that Aldrich members captured during the 2017 solar eclipse, observed in Tetonia, Idaho. Share the excitement of witnessing a total solar eclipse through dramatic video footage, and learn an easy way to observe the sun using a colander. Jim will also invite kids in the audience to help demonstrate how the Moon can eclipse the Sun even though the Sun is much larger!

Books, stickers, solar glasses and handouts will be provided.

Mr. Zebrowski is a retired physicist and a lifelong amateur astronomer. Learn more about his organization, The Aldrich Astronomical Society.
