The Visiting Mexican Artists Program: The Dancing Chickens of Ventura Fabian
Have you seen our art exhibit, The Visiting Mexican Artists Program: The Dancing Chickens of Ventura Fabian, on the main floor of the Brookline Village Library? Want to learn how these wood carvings are made, and the history and culture of the craft? Adults and kids of all ages are invited to this interactive event, featuring a live demonstration of Oaxacan woodcarving and a Q&A session.
The Visiting Mexican Artists Program: The Dancing Chickens of Ventura Fabian is a bilingual multicultural arts education program about the art and craft of Oaxacan woodcarving. Featuring woodcarver Norberto Fabian, son of the late master carver Ventura Fabian, the program celebrates Mexican folk art and culture with audiences in order to expand cultural horizons and encourage a greater appreciation and knowledge of world cultures and art through direct contact with the artist.
Since the program’s inception in 2003, it has been presented at over 100 sites and has received commendations from both the Boston and Cambridge City Councils.

Hunneman Hall is located on the second floor of the Brookline Village Library. To access, use one of the main entrances, which are equipped with ramps and door openers, followed by the elevator in the atrium. This venue is equipped with assistive listening transmitters and devices, available upon request.
